Where Karen Began
A life built by beginning again.
Karen Anastasia Prescod was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago.
At age 20, she moved to the United States. What followed was a life built across places, experiences, and communities — New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut to Texas, Arizona, Georgia, and Florida. Karen learned to begin again more than once, adapting to new environments while building a career and discovering her capacity to lead.
She entered the workforce from the ground up, learning people, responsibility, service, and what it meant to lead while still finding her own way.
Long before the awards, the recognition, or the stages, there was a young woman from Trinidad learning how to navigate a new country, discovering what she was capable of, and becoming a leader one experience at a time.
